Με τον Κανονισμό (ΕΕ) 2018/1235 της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής καταχωρήθηκε το προϊόν με την προστατευόμενη πλέον ονομασία «Αγκινάρα Ιρίων», στο Ευρωπαϊκό Μητρώο των ΠΟΠ/ΠΓΕ (DOOR) ως Προστατευόμενη Γεωγραφική Ένδειξη (ΠΓΕ).
